Rafael Aleixandre Benavent


Qualification: Degree (1980) and PhD (1991) in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia

Current position and institution: Senior researcher of Public Research Organizations. UISYS, Joint Research Unit, CSIC-Universitat de València. Ingenio (CSIC-UPV).

Research lines: Evaluation of scientific activity; Data Sharing; Bibliometric studies.

Brief curricular review: Specialist in Medical Documentation from the University of Valencia and co-director of the Information and Social and Health Research Unit (UISYS) of the Universitat de València and the CSIC. His main lines of research are focused on the evaluation of research and scientific publications and studies on drug addiction. He collaborates in various teaching and research activities of several Spanish and foreign universities and has directed several research projects of the National Research, Development and Innovation Spanish Program, the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia City Council and various foundations and professional and scientific associations. He has conducted training and research stays in foreign centers in Lyon (France), Stellenbosch (South Africa), Vienna (Austria), Santiago (Chile) and Florianópolis (Brazil). In 2012 he was accredited as a full professor.

Research lines: Evaluation of the scientific activity and analysis of scientific productivity through the use of bibliometric and cybermetric indicators; Data Sharing.

Brief curricular review: Professor since 2004 and with two sexennial period of research (2005-2016). Research member in various projects of the National Plan of R&D and main researcher in a precompetitive project of R&D of the Generalitat Valenciana. Member of the executive board of the Spanish Federation of Societies of Archivist, Librarians, Documentalist and Museology (FESABID) and the Official College of Librarians and Documentalists of the Valencian Community (COBDCV), Network University of Information and Documentation (RUID).

Breve reseña curricular: Desde 2016 es profesora asociada del departamento de Sociología de la Universitat de València. Ha participado en diversas publicaciones en revistas indexadas. Es colaboradora del grupo de investigación IPRODES. Ha participado en varios proyectos de investigación, entre ellos el proyecto PROMETEO “VESTIGIUM” sobre el análisis y evaluación de la ciencia y los científicos valencianos del siglo XX y “DATASEA”, sobre los modelos para publicar, consumir y medir la reutilización de los datos derivados de la investigación. Asimismo colabora en diversos estudios llevados a cabo dentro de convenios con el Plan Municipal de Drogodependencias - UPCCA Valencia y la Conselleria de Sanitat de la Comunitat Valenciana.

He holds a Diploma of Specialist in Applied Social Research and Data Analysis from the Spanish Center for Sociological Research (CIS). He has been a visiting professor at universities in Brazil, Iceland, Belgium, Portugal and Uruguay.

She was assistant professor in the Library and Information Science Departament in the Carlos III University (2013-2015) inside the program "Postdoctorals Stays" and beneficiary of several contracts and scholarships in different research institutions,among them, Institute of Health Carlos III, ISCIII (2016-2017); Spanish National Research Council, CSIC (2005-2007 and 2013).

She has completed her Phd thesis as a beneficiary of a competitive scholarship within the program of the University of Valencia: V Segles-empresa (2007-2011). Has made different research stays in several prestigious foreign universities : KU Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven); USI: Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano) and Danube University Krems.
